The latest series in the UIAA podcast series Sound of mountains The program kicked off at the end of April with an exclusive interview with British climber Tom Livingstone, of whom Sir Chris Bonington once said: “Tom Livingstone is one of the best climbers in the world, always using the purest technique.”
As detailed in Tom's own website biography, he has a keen interest in trad, winter and alpine climbing – Bigger and badder is better. He is an outdoor instructor and noted author.
Some of his favorite routes include collapsed (nine, 9), fourth dimension (E7 6c), fun or fear (Executive Director), secret (nine, 9), rare lichen (E9 6c), conan the librarian (E6 6b), divine providence (ED), winter climbing Walker Spurs in great choras, great game About Koyo Zom (ED+) and Northridge variant On Latok I (ED+). Now in his 30s, he remains ambitious and wants to take on more responsibilities.
After two series that mixed celebrity interview formats with deep dives into hot topics, Mountain Voices now focuses on conversations with climbers, alpinists and other influential figures from the climbing and mountain world. Guests embark on a journey to reflect on what got them into climbing, onto the walls and into the hills, the lessons learned along the way, the gear they couldn't live without, the people they met, their strengths and weaknesses and what lies ahead.
