Black Diamond devices have released a product safety recall for Recon LT Avalanche transceiver.
Black DiamondEquiblion® is recalling the Black Diamond Recon LT Avalanche transceiver and associated avalanche security kits along with the possible failure of corrosion issues. The scout owner can fix the transceiver, exchange different models or refund.
In some cases, metal contacts of the Recon LT switch mechanism may corrode. If this happens, the device may fail or shut down, which may hinder avalanche rescue efforts and increase the risk of serious injury or death. Consumers with Black Diamond Scout should immediately stop using it and follow the recall procedure.
