Our Vacasa Concierge Lourdes contacted us before the trip and asked if we needed any help with booking or suggestions. She set up a golf cart rental for us with a luxury golf cart rental, which is highly recommended as only service vehicles are allowed on the island. Joey and our golf cart picked us up from the airport in San Pedro. He even escorted us to our rental house in Belize and stopped to send us to the groceries. Lourdes also provided us with many suggestions on eating places and the best beaches. We cannot ask for better service!

Live with Vacasa in San Pedro
We allocated our time between Ambergris Caye in Belize and the inland island near San Ignacio, which made us the best of both worlds. In San Pedro we enjoyed beach time and incredible snorkeling on the Barerize Barrier Reef while our inland time explored the nearby Mayan ruins. We live Lor-e-Lei Housea beautiful new level 3 waterfront home with a private pool, two balconies and rooftop terrace overlooking Tarpen Bay. What makes this home so important to the family is that you can rent one, two or all three levels depending on how much space and amount you need.
We booked the second level LOR-E-LEI HOUSE (Click here to reserve) Features one bedroom, a bathroom, laundry, living room and an amazing kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Open concept kitchen and living room with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors showing the water views of Tarpen Bay.
We visited the whole house with the friendly maintenance staff Eric, who greeted us and showed us how everything works in the house. If you are a family of four, we recommend renting the second and third levels (Book here), let the children sleep on parents at level 2 and level 3. If you have five or six people, Book the entire house.
The third floor is the penthouse with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors in the open bedroom and living area, meaning you can wake up to the magnificent sunrise views over the bay. The bathroom of the penthouse has a huge shower area with dual high-end shower fixtures.
Both upper floors overlooking the bay have a large balcony where we enjoyed a glass of wine. We also browsed the rooftop terrace for better sunset and sunrise views!
The first floor is a poolside suite with one bedroom, a full bathroom, separate bathroom, and an outdoor shower that can be washed out if you enter the pool or bay. There is a spacious poolside terrace with lounge chairs, outdoor dining table and chairs, and another living area with cozy chairs to relax while enjoying the views.
Live with vacasa in San Ignacio
Spending 4 nights in San Pedro, we headed inland to explore the Mayan ruins. We live in the Bullet Tree Falls in the small village, just 10 minutes from the larger town of San Ignacio. We stayed in the Monkey Suite in Mahogany Hall (Click here to reserve). Located on the Mopan River, this boutique luxury resort is dense and tropical.
Mahogany Hall has 2 suites participating in Vacasa. It is the most luxurious vacation rental in the area. This is different from a typical Vacasa rental, as you rent a suite in a boutique instead of bringing a home for yourself. The part we like to stay here is the peaceful surroundings and views.
The Monkey Suite has 2 double beds, and there is a double-size Trundle underneath each. It sleeps 6, which is ideal for a large family. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub and separate shower with bronze sink. There is a small table and mini bar area with free filtered water, tea and coffee. There is also a water cooler in the corridor, allowing us to refille the water bottles before going on the adventure. Our room had fresh tropical bouquets and petals, and spelling out a welcome message on the bed, which was a nice touch.
Remember, this suite does not have a kitchen or refrigerator, so unlike traditional Vacasa, you can’t cook your own. However, the on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on an amazing deck surrounded by tropical vegetation, and you can hear the Mopan River rushing into about 60 feet. There is also a bar area made of beautiful mahogany wood where you can enjoy a drink.
The breakfast and lunch menu is a la carte, while the dinner menu is 2 options per night and you need to order in advance for $25 per person. We had breakfast in the restaurant one morning, but since we were busy exploring, all the other meals we ate outside the resort. We love dining while hearing the relaxed sounds of the river and nature.
Mahogany Hall has a small boundless pool overlooking the river. There are lounge chairs, hammocks and fire pits to enjoy the natural sound. We love listening to all the birds singing and the sound of the rainforest at night. Incredibly soothing! You can also borrow some tube slots to float on the Mopan River, which is fun. I was a little nervous about the crocodile, but don't worry, they didn't come to this part of the river.
Last thoughts about living with Vacasa during a vacation in Belize
We were very pleased with the choice to book Vacasa during our vacation in Belize. San Pedro and San Ignacio are two of the best places to stay in Belize, Vacasa is in two places and other hot spots in Belize There are many options, such as Plicencia, Hopkins and Caye Caulker.
