Acquisition adds content programming to Hotel Connect

Travelgate, a global hotel distribution network based in Palma de Mallorca and part of the Travelsoft Group since 2024, has acquired AO UK Ltd. The British software company brings nearly two decades of product information expertise applied to travel. The deal aims to bridge the gap between distributing inventory and preparing sales offers by integrating content natively within the Travelgate platform, which already connects more than 1,000 buyers and sellers through standardized APIs.

The partnership introduces a massive content orchestration layer. Suppliers can create, enrich and control their descriptions and media with precision. Publishers receive consistent, channel-ready content across all markets. The latest version of AO Campaign unifies product information management, digital asset management and master data management on one platform with the assistance of artificial intelligence: workflow automation, multi-language and multi-channel publishing, personalized document generation, digital asset management and end-to-end auditing, the company said. AO UK’s leadership remains in place to ensure product and customer continuity.

“This is a natural evolution of the platform. It allows us to go beyond moving inventory and improve how inventory is actually presented and executed,” said Luisa Camara, chief commercial officer at Travelgate.

By internalizing content orchestration, the platform aims to increase conversion rates and reduce operational costs associated with fragmented tool chains. “This acquisition adds capabilities to our platform that the hotel distribution industry has long needed,” said Pedro Camara, CEO of Travelgate. “Connectivity drives product. The company used the announcement to underline its scale: its network handles more than 65,000 bookings and 9 billion searches every day, equivalent to an annual turnover of more than 5 billion euros. Founded in the UK in 2006, AO UK has teams in the UK, Australia and North America serving clients in the travel industry, from tour operators and tour operators to DMCs and hotel wholesalers.
