after Savannah Banana visited Disneyland last year, Disney decided to bring them back this year for a fun one-day experience. Or even better? One of the newest Banana Ball Champions League teams, the Indianapolis Clowns, have also joined the fun. We’re celebrating all things Savannah Banana at Disneyland, so let’s see what happens during the festivities!
Okay, here's some background. The Savannah Bananas are an exhibition baseball team that competes in Banana Ball, a variation of baseball that focuses on entertainment and performance. That means players don't just play baseball; They also perform dances, comedy sketches and more during the competition.
Let us tell you right now, this is a very popular activity at Disneyland. In fact, you could say the crowd was…bananas. A sea of yellow awaits the convoy.
We also saw long lines for special merchandise celebrating the day. Disney is limiting Disney-specific merchandise to two items per person. The keepsakes include a special lapel pin and shirt.
The Savannah Bananas start the day with a performance in front of a crowd sleeping beauty castle. This year's performance was even grander, with them dancing and singing.
They were joined by some familiar faces like Mickey and Donald.
The Indianapolis Clowns also joined the Bananas and performed for fans today.
