What happened to the “cancel culture” promoted by MAGA right-wingers? The same thing happened to squeamish Republicans horrified by the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and to QAnon figures who warned about child sex rings in Washington and now support pedophiles running the government. It's the same far-right folks who hated the federal government, refused to investigate the 1995 bombing of a federal building in downtown Oklahoma City (yes, I'm looking at you, Newt), and now support concentrating power in the hands of the executive branch. Republicans who supported a “starve the beast” strategy to reduce government spending in the name of fiscal conservatism now support a president who has increased the federal debt and touted a multi-trillion-dollar military budget. The bottom line here is to do whatever it takes to make the rich richer.
