Travel software provider CodeGen has revealed that all of its operations can now be conducted through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), making it the first enterprise travel platform to do so.

In an effort to set “new standards for integration, flexibility and interoperability,” CodeGen has built an MCP server for one of its airline customers before rolling it out to all operations.

In its first iteration, the airline's chatbot agent seamlessly links with Amadeus PSS, giving it access to real-time flight availability and rates without the need for lengthy API integrations.

In turn, airlines can open their inventory and rates to any travel agency system without having to build integrations such as NDC.

Relevant systems can use natural language to query the operator's system and access last-minute quotes, similar to NDC.

CodeGen believes this will be “the future of communication between airline and travel agency platforms” as MCP provides a common interface for systems to communicate more efficiently.

TravelBox's MCP server will significantly reduce the time required for other systems to connect to the client, thereby significantly reducing integration costs.

It enables TravelBox to coexist seamlessly with other applications, improving workflow efficiency and user experience.

TravelBox customers will benefit from significant reductions in development time when accessing other MCP-compliant systems.
