As an American, I'm glad to know that you don't have to go all the way to the Netherlands to see the colorful tulip fields. An hour north of Seattle is the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival April 1-30. Here you can see bright tulips blooming. As a Seattleite, I go to the Tulip Festival when I can and love sharing the highlights of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.

Three main farms for the Tulip Festival
Previously, crops came mainly from two large farms: Roozen Gaarde/Washington Light Bulb Company. and tulip town. However, this year there is an additional farm, covering 13 acres Rosalyn Gardens. This is the only farm that allows well-behaved dogs to be photographed there.
Crops are rotated to different fields each year. Visitors can explore the rainbow of blooms by bike, car or even on foot. Especially on weekends, there are many people, so if you drive, it is recommended to carpool. (View Park N Ride locations)
If you are riding a bicycle, please drive with caution as everyone is excited about the tulips. If you don't have transportation, you can take Skagit bus route 615 Depart from Skagit Station. From this route, get off at Beaver Marsh (RoozenGaarde) and Mc Lean Road (Tulip Town).
The festival celebrates tulips with a variety of events and performances. For example, there are art performances, galas, a Mount Vernon street fair, local food vendors, and kite flying. There's even wine tasting Tulip Valley Winery and an alpaca farm.
In addition to numerous tulip fields, RoozenGaarde also has a display garden with a variety of flowers such as tulips, daffodils, peonies, hyacinths and crocuses. There is also a gift shop and various flower displays.
Overall, the views are stunning, with gorgeous tulips, rustic barns, and the Cascade Mountains in the background. There is nothing better than this natural beauty! Alternatively, you can purchase tulip bulbs picked fresh from the fields.

Interesting facts about tulips: Tulips are native to Central Asia and Türkiye. Later, tulips were brought to the Netherlands, which became world-famous for its colorful tulip fields in spring.
To avoid crowds, schedule your workday and arrive early in the morning. Also, purchase your $15 tickets online in advance to avoid the lines at RoozenGaarde and Tulip Town. Other venues charge $15/car. Accommodations are available in Mount Vernon, Burlington and La Conner.
Additionally, the festival is just an hour north of Seattle and a half-hour south of Bellingham. Overall, there is a lot to see in the Pacific Northwest besides tulips. I will go every time there is a festival Skagit Valley Food Co-op Shop for healthy food and beverages in Mount Vernon.
