
The Saudi Ministry of Tourism has launched TourismX, a suite of free artificial intelligence tools for tour operators built in line with its “AI Tourism Vision.” These tools can write restaurant menus, generate room design concepts, and draft hotel operations manuals — tasks that operators used to do in-house or outsource. The ministry is giving away the tools.
TourismX is the latest in a series of AI brand initiatives launched by the Saudi tourism ecosystem since mid-2025 – Sara, Destination Plan, Agentic Tourism Initiative, AI Tourism Vision, Noura – which, for better or worse, has launched more brands in 18 months than most tourism ministries produce in a decade.
This latest release caught my attention because of what it represents. Tourism boards have spent decades marketing destinations, collecting visitor data and conducting training seminars. Building AI products for these operators is different.
