Puerto Rico has been powered back most of its time: Travel Weekly

After an island-wide power outage in Puerto Rico on April 16, nearly all businesses and residences recovered their power on Friday morning, April 18.

this power failureIt is estimated that the occurrence occurred around 12:30 pm on Wednesday and will take up to 48 hours to fully resolve. According to Power Company Luma Energy, nearly 99% of customers had electricity as of Friday morning.

The company is investigating the cause of the grid failure. Electricity issues have plagued the island since the Maria Category 4 hurricane hit the territory in 2017.

Destination management organization Discover Puerto Rico said that while Luma has been working to restore power, many San Juan businesses are developing generators.
