OpenAI’s new AI deployment company already has travel experience

OpenAI is turning AI deployment into a $4 billion business called OpenAI Deployment, and its new acquisition of Tomoro gives the program a ready-made travel proof point: Virgin Atlantic's AI concierge service.

With the acquisition of Tomoro, the deployment business began to have about 150 engineers and artificial intelligence deployment experts with experience working with customers such as finance, gaming, retail and travel.

OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar wrote in a LinkedIn post that the launch “will help bridge a critical gap for customers.” Tomoro has a “track record of deploying AI in complex enterprise environments for companies like Tesco and Virgin Atlantic,” she said, and “the team will expand our ability to embed cutting-edge AI engineers directly into organizations around the world.”
