When I asked for a moment Road trip All I know for my husband the other day at 9:30 pm is my desire to see the San Antonio River Trail, which is where I want us to stay: Omni la Mansión del Rio.
I came across this gorgeous San Antonio hotel time and time again as I searched for a place to stay on the San Antonio River Trail and I just couldn’t miss the opportunity to stay there.
My husband said he would be falling down the next morning on an 8-hour road trip, so I booked our room and at 5am we headed south to the San Antonio resort.
The first thing we noticed when we pulled to the entrance of Omni la Mansión del Rio was that this historic San Antonio Hotel has black wrought iron balconies and buttercream walls.
The ps bed was a little vague because the first thing everyone did when we arrived was to flip it to the bed before I insisted on getting up so that I could pick up a 4 room photo in at least 4 houses!
Acquired by the Omni brand in the early 2000s, this historic hotel is a revival of the Spanish colony, with a modern luxury style throughout the environment, from rooms with exposed beams (maybe not structural, but absolutely gorgeous!) to yards with pool and Spanish fountains, and beyond.
Oh, that pool was heated too. I'm pretty sure that's my kid's favorite amenities at the Omni La Mansión del Rio! I personally appreciate the generously appointed facilities found in the room, such as the New York skincare I fell in love with… Sicily oranges are my favorite new scent!
Great location on the river, here is a list of all the best places to stay San Antonio River Walk. Not only is it conveniently located on two attractions we wanted in San Antonio and Alamo, but it is actually a fixture for this popular tourist area.
I personally think this is the most gorgeous building you've seen on the River Walk Cruise and I'm sure I'm not alone.
When we turned to the evening late afternoon, we walked around the river and admired the dreamy water and the lovely shops and restaurants around. There is even live music!
From our vantage point, we may also be walking nature as we meander by the river, hiding under the cascading leaves of trees.
Indeed, the river is a fascinating part of this historic area of San Antonio.
We foolishly imagined that we could walk into a restaurant along the San Antonio River Trail and get a table, but there was at least two hours of waiting everywhere. Lessons learned there next time!
However, this is not a problem, as Omni la Mansión del Rio has several on-site restaurants and we found the perfect solution: My husband took the kids to the heated pool for some fun night swims, and I ordered takeaway at the bar of four brothers.
As an additional bonus, I was able to enjoy a lovely handmade cocktail while I waited for our food.
I would say, this is basically good for all of us. Whenever there are fresh herbs on the bar, I need to see what they can whip!
We had a pool beside the stunning Omni la Mansión del Rio Courtyard, and the fireplace quietly flashed a few feet away to make our late night supper even more comfortable.
Dinner was delicious, of course, but expensive. I mean, this is a hotel restaurant and a very good restaurant. For convenience and quality, that evening was worth it for us!
My husband can’t stop praising the four brothers’ Texas food and wine burgers, and if you know my husband, you know it’s really highly praised.
Once we finished supper, it was time to stuff ourselves into those spacious queen beds. (After the absolutely luxurious shower in the rain shower… Finnish Stadium!)
These beds and they looked comfortable so we were able to have a pleasant sleep on our second day vacation in San Antonio.
The next morning when we woke up the pool was the only thought for the girls so we adapted and went back again!
The courtyard of this beautiful San Antonio River Trail hotel is such a peaceful place to relax and relax, so even though I never soaked my toes in the water, I still enjoyed my time by the poolside.
With San Antonio adventures and clock ticking, I went to the front desk to ask for options and received amazing customer service.
Indeed, everyone we met at Omni la Mansión del Rio from valet to housekeeping, everyone in between was enjoyable, the direction of customer service was, but the front desk agent that morning was absolutely fantastic – thanks Ms. Carrie Wright!
We peeked at an onsite restaurant, El Colegio, to buy muffins to tide until lunch, and the deliciousness of the banana nuts was enough to convince us that we needed to try more from this place next time.

After a long wait for the river cruise in that Veeery, it's time to have lunch!
The lunch waiting time was about the same as the dinner waiting time we had the night before, so it was a very happy meeting for us! We ended up having lunch at the Rainforest Cafe because of course the kids.
If you have kids, you already know that those animated animals and jungle themes are really hard to top for the younger crowd.
I was kidding and I was so excited about visiting the Rainforest Cafe because of my near-pleasant memories of this carnival restaurant since I was a kid! I just said the food suffered a different taste in 1995 and I swear to do it.
Our last item to visit this quick San Antonio vacation is Alamolocated across the street, on the corner of Omni La Mansión del Rio.
I know we can't see this historic landmark and I'm glad we visited the southern Texas sun in March and it didn't easily make it difficult to explore this cool place.
We all found it interesting, and there were even a few re-actor actors for reasons to tell funny stories and show off their historical props.
Sometimes, kids can’t find the same appealing history as adults, but my kids love this one! They like to ask a lot of questions and get some great answers from these knowledgeable Alamo historians.
We had two local suggestions for visiting restaurants nearby, but sadly, this trip was not allowed: Voodoo Donuts & Pizza in Alfredo.
Voodoo Donuts has an hour wait and even get into the door, we just ran out of time/gastric space to visit it or Alfredo's pizza, but we heard good authority and if you don't order Tiramisu while visiting Alfredo, you're doing it wrong.
It's just a quick all-night trip for our family, but where we'll see during our next San Antonio vacation and what we're going to do continue to grow, as for where we're going to stay?
I can't imagine anything other than the gorgeous Omni la Mansión del Rio, next time I visit, I'll make sure I have time to go to Voodoo donuts, Alfredo's pizza, and A beautiful spa in La Mansión del Rio once or twice.
Writing this La Mansión del Rio review only cemented my impression of this beautiful river strolling gemstone, a member of the historic hotel in the United States. From check-in to check-out, this River Hotel received a 10/10 rating.
And San Antonio, Texas? You are not that bad either. We will see you again soon!
