This Bavarian-style foil packet dinner combines Oktoberfest cheer with comfort Autumn camping. A crackling campfire, fall foliage, a cold pilsner, and a hearty meal—what could be better? !
These foil pouches are a complete dinner, filled with sausage, Dutch gold potatoes, red cabbage, and Pink Lady apples. If you can find coriander seeds, they would be an incredible addition!
what we love Aluminum foil packaged meals Just how easy and hands-off they make cooking at the campsite. Just sit back, relax, talk and have fun by the fire. Keep it low and simmer and dinner will almost cook itself.

It was a energizing meal for us. We often make some variation of the Oktoberfest meal at home, but we wanted to find a way to bring the same celebratory sense of togetherness to the campground. Hope you can share it with your friends next time you go out!

Tips for doing this camping trip
- Don't throw these bags over a 900°F fire; everything will burn and the potatoes will still be raw. Low and slow is the way to go. Place the foil packet and cook over medium-low indirect heat for 25-30 minutes. Relax. Maybe crack open your favorite Oktoberfest beer.
Preparation before departure
- These foil packs can be assembled entirely at home. Prepare, mix and assemble into foil pouches. Making sure the edges are well curled, place them in a waterproof zipper bag and store them in the cooler.
- Precooking potatoes at home will greatly reduce cooking time at camp. Boil the fingerling or gold hollandaise potatoes, allow to cool, then combine with the other ingredients.
