There were several of these industrial vector cooling towers around Hollywood Studios yesterday, pictured above. According to their website, and based on our snooping, these appear to be weatherproof air conditioners that can only direct airflow, steam, or mist. The tower pictured above is located in the courtyard of the Muppet Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.
In addition to the cooling towers, we also observed that the characters and musicians stationed in central locations around the animation courtyard until Saturday were strictly in shaded areas.
If you're planning on visiting Walt Disney World in the next few months, we have some tips to help you stay calm. Anyway, cooler:
- If you can, aim to get into the ropes early and head to the resort for the hottest part of the day. With a nap and some time in the pool, your group will be ready for the evening's return to the park.
- If you plan to be in the park during the middle of the day, try to choose an indoor attraction with air conditioning.
- Packaging points:
- Cooling towels and plastic bags for storage and ice cubes
- A rechargeable fan for everyone and a spray fan for any user
- hat
- Lots of sunscreen
