Groot and the other Marvel superheroes are back on Earth. But this time, instead of saving the world from another evil villain, they're going on vacation.
That’s the backstory behind Marvel’s recent acquisition of the Disneyland attraction. This time it's at Tokyo Disneyland, where Marvel characters are now appearing It's a small world…with Groot.
It's Disney's latest attempt to get guests to take a closer look at the details of its iconic indoor boat ride. A few years ago, Disney added characters from some of its animated films to It's a Small World. So the addition of Groot and his MCU friends doesn't break the taboo of riding. Frankly, if playing “Where's Waldo?” with Groot – like we did with the Disney character's first appearance – would have helped distract the riders from being The Sherman Brothers theme song is drowning in earworms, and that's a good thing, right?
Please watch the riding POV of the new Groot overlay and judge for yourself.
I love this introductory picture, with all the kids holding banners that say “Welcome” in their own languages, and Groot holding a sign that says – of course – “I am Groot.” Although. It was silly, but I laughed.
The “Groot's It's a Small World” stack will last until June 30th.
