Ljubljana Airport has completed the largest construction phase of its main apron renovation project. The work began in March and involved the replacement of approximately 37,000 square meters of worn pavement, including 16,000 square meters of new concrete aircraft parking bays and 21,000 square meters of new asphalt pavement. As a result, all aircraft bays near the terminal have returned to service, increasing operational flexibility and aircraft handling capacity during the peak summer season.
Construction on the northwest section of the main apron continues and is expected to be completed in October 2026. Upon completion, the upgraded apron will accommodate 22 C-code parking bays, 4 D-code parking bays and 2 E-code parking bays, thereby enhancing the capacity of Ljubljana Airport for future development.
