Kimpton opened in São Rafael Beach in the first resort of Portugal, Kimpton Atlantico Algarve.
Kimpton said the luxurious lifestyle resort has 149 rooms and suites “inspired by the tranquil speed of Mediterranean views and coastal life.” The resort said Portuguese designer Nini Andrade Silva “mels the mood with natural texture and warmth, earthy tones, while smooth stone surfaces, airy linens, handmade ceramics and wood decorations will also blend together to create an interior that exudes the elegance of the ground.”

Terra is an all-day bar, cafe and market where guests can start their day with Portuguese pastries made from local ingredients such as toasted almonds, oranges and Madrid honey. Kimpton describes Sombra as a garden oasis featuring local seafood. Marés is a daytime beachfront restaurant that offers items such as Mediterranean grilled beets and Piri Piri Chicken. The Zénite rooftop bar offers sea views.
The resort's wellness center features a heated indoor pool, a spa circuit with flotation box, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam and gym. The facility offers a variety of massage and therapy sessions.
