Considering where to stay on Kauai with kids? Our Vacasa reviews will help you decide where to stay in Hawaii. We stayed for 6 nights in a gorgeous 2 bedroom, 2 bath luxury condo in Princeville, Hawaii. This Vacasa rental, Pali Ke Kua 124, is Kauai's best place to stay at a great value, with stunning ocean and Na Pali Coast views, spacious luxury accommodations, and thoughtful extras to make you feel at home. You can even book with points, and we’ll share how in this Vacasa review.

Booking an entire home for a family vacation is a great way to save money. You can dine in and save a lot on food, especially in places like Hawaii where eating out is very expensive. We especially love having a complete home when traveling as a family so we can have plenty of space, comfort, and privacy in separate bedrooms.

The hotel is adjacent to the Princeville Golf Course and features a paved walking trail for you to enjoy the scenery. The resort also has a path leading to the secluded beach Pali Ke Kua Beach for resort guests. This is the most luxurious area on Kauai. It happens to be where all the billionaires on the island live, so you know it's magic. Pali Ke Kua has a swimming pool and hot tub, which we had to ourselves when we went.

Visit our vacation rentals

Vacasa makes it easy to get to our Kauai vacation rentals. We received an email approximately 24 hours before check-in with instructions on how to use the digital lock. We receive a text message with our unique code to enter once the unit is ready for move-in. The digital lock wasn't working when we arrived, but we texted Vacasa and got immediate instructions on how to open the lock box with a physical key.

We received a text message asking how check-in was going when we arrived and if we needed anything. We also received a message asking about the cleanliness of the house, which was spotlessly clean. Cleanliness is extremely important to us, especially during this time of pandemic. We appreciate Vacasa's extra attention to this matter and inquiry about our satisfaction at the beginning of our stay. Local Vacasa staff can help with any questions.

We received a welcome gift of local Hawaiian products as well as Kukui nut leis, which symbolize enlightenment, protection, guidance and peace in Hawaiian culture. This thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated and made a great souvenir of our trip.

View from our Hawaiian Vacasa

We were in awe when we entered the apartment and saw the stunning views of the Na Pali Coast and the Pacific Ocean. The living room has floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows, allowing you to fully appreciate the scenery. The sunset views are absolutely incredible so we enjoy them on our patio almost every evening. We even invited new friends we met on the catamaran cruise for sunset drinks on our last night in Kauai and it was the most spectacular sunset we saw all week!

There was a table and chairs on the balcony off the living room where we had breakfast every morning. There is a BBQ and ring toss game on the porch. There is a second smaller porch off the office area with 2 Adirondack chairs for lounging and enjoying the picturesque view.

Modern decoration and new decoration

The Hawaii condos we stayed in were dated and in desperate need of updating, but this unit was newly renovated with modern and luxurious amenities. It has a brand new kitchen with white marble countertops, stainless steel appliances and new cabinets. It's stocked with everything you could need, including a Tiki bar cart and stainless steel tumblers to keep your drinks cold at the beach.

The bathroom features white marble countertops, spa-like fixtures and a rain shower. There is also a washer and dryer, which is especially convenient for a beach vacation in Hawaii.

We love the modern, bright, beachy decor, which is so tastefully done that we doubt an interior designer was involved. Additional touches like earthy scented candles throughout the house, citronella candles on the patio, colorful blankets, and fun books made us feel cozy and at home.

Beach equipment loan

We were so impressed with all the beach gear that the owners left it for us to borrow at their home. In the closet we found 3 large surfboards, 4 beach chairs, an ATV, several beach cooler bags and a sturdy beach umbrella with wings that attach to the sand for extra sun protection.

A cabinet at the main entrance contains about a dozen beach towels, snorkeling masks and fins, sand toys, water shoes of various sizes, sunscreen, and various sports equipment and balls. We have never stayed at a rental that was so generous in providing beach equipment for guest use. Next time we stay here we can travel light and leave the snorkeling gear at home.
