November 2024: The epic universe is “good for the market” and the Sea World will still “need to execute our plans,”
In the Q&A section of the earnings call on November 7, an investor asked about Orlando’s plan to “compete with this new”, referring to the Epic Universe.
Universal Epic Universe – a brand new theme park with attractions dedicated to large freight such as Nintendo and “Harry Potter” – will open at Universal Studios in Florida on May 22, 2025.
“We know there's a new park coming to Orlando next year,” Swanson said. He continued, “We welcome more people to town. I'm sure there will be a few days of epics,” he continued. [Universe] It's very good, very crowded…we'll feel this is on the attendance rate of potential SeaWorld Orlando.
Still, executives share Ocean World’s corporate perspective on the opening of new parks is positive: “It’s good for the market. …It will bring more people to the Orlando area.” At the same time, though, Ocean World Orlando can’t be idle off the court, hoping more guests will flock to the door because of the epic universe’s opening. “We need to execute our plan to bring more people to our parks.”
