Explora Journeys launches exclusive exhibition of Prince Hussein Aga Khan’s marine photography on its newest ship Discovery II.
The exhibition, titled “Ocean Encounters,” is located in the ship's art gallery. It provides a visual journey into the wonders of marine life through the lens of Prince Hussein. This limited edition set of 28 photographs will be on display for six months for the first time. They were presented to the MSC Foundation by Prince Hussein and reflect the cooperation between the two parties in environmental protection and education.

On September 14, Explora Journeys President Anna Nash, MSC Foundation Executive Director Daniela Picco and Prince Hussein Aga Khan officially opened the exhibition. This beautiful collection is available for purchase, with proceeds going to support the MSC Foundation.
“I'm so grateful and lucky to be able to show my work in this beautiful space on Explora II. My mission is to show people what's there – the diversity, the beauty, the fascinating behaviors, the intelligence – in an effort to make them fall in love with the animals , plants and habitats,” said Prince Hussain Aga Khan, photographer and founder of Focused on Nature. “At least encourage them to care, but also highlight the dire decline, the threats, and some of the solutions and changes we can make in our own behavior.”
The exhibition was unveiled as part of a naming ceremony Discovery II. The ship is the second ship in MSC Group's luxury line Explora Journeys fleet, following Explore I Explore II On September 16, it set sail from Civitavecchia (a Roman port) and headed to Spain, Sicily and Malta.

On the Ocean Encounter Walk, cruisers will embark on a journey from the coral reef to the deep sea, focusing on the importance of coral conservation. It ends in the MSC Foundation Area, a space dedicated to awareness-raising and educational activities onboard the MSC Foundation.
The purchase of a limited-edition print of Prince Hussein from the Ocean Encounters exhibition will directly provide a semester-long scholarship to a University of the Bahamas marine science student—something the MSC Foundation is already doing.
Daniella Picco, Executive Director of the MSC Foundation, said: “We are extremely honored to partner with Prince Hussain Aga Khan, the distinguished artist and ambassador for the oceans, to showcase his work on Explora II Outstanding photography. ” “This exhibition offers cruise guests a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the ocean through art, while also being inspired by Prince Hussein’s unwavering dedication to and strong advocacy for ocean conservation. Inspiration.”
