About the movie

Kriegie Kids tells the story of five adults who come together nearly eighty years after World War II to retrace the paths their fathers took while serving as prisoners of war in Germany. Each of them was the child of an American pilot who was shot down, captured, and later incarcerated at Starrag Luft IV, one of the largest prisoner of war camps for Air Force noncommissioned officers. Their journey takes them through Germany and Poland, trying to understand parts of their father's story that are rarely told at home. The central focus of the film is the forced march from Stalag Luft IV, known as the “Black March” or “Death March,” during which the prisoners endured freezing temperatures, disease, hunger, and grueling daily walks. The film reveals the pain these young pilots endured and the lasting impact their experiences had on future generations.
