Why I love these cookies (and so do you!)
Honestly, I'm not a great baker. Of course, I can handle simple baked goods Coffee Cake Maybe organic galette On the pie. But do you see those complex, sophisticated sugar cookies everywhere during the holidays? It didn't happen in my kitchen. I usually do Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies Or simple Pear crispy. I prefer recipes that don't require a degree in pastry art, which is why these 4 ingredients peanut butter cookies have become one of my go-to snacks.
The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity. With only four basic ingredients, you can prepare delicious cookies in 20 minutes. No fancy equipment, no complex technology. Just mix, spoon and bake.

Our Peanut Butter Adventure
Over the years, Pete and I became peanut butter connoisseurs. We love to try different brands when traveling, and so far Calvé peanut butter from the Netherlands has won the championship. Europe’s approach to nut butter is different!
Back home, we stick to two reliable collections: Joe Joe’s creamy salty peanut butter or fresh peanut butter from the fresh market. Trader Joe's version wins affordability and simplicity. The ingredients list literally says “peanuts” and that’s it. We actively avoid traditional store-buying peanut butter using palm oil and other additives. The quality of peanut butter does shine when you make something as simple as the 4-ingredient peanut butter cookies.

4 Ingredients Peanut Butter Cookies
These peanut butter cookies have only four simple ingredients that sound too easy. But I swear, that's what you need! Since there is no flour, they don't even have gluten. And they also contain a little protein.
- Natural peanut butter
- Light brown sugar
- Egg
- baking soda
That's it! No flour, no butter, no long-term ingredients that you forget in the store. You probably already have all these ingredients to start with.
How to Make Peanut Butter Cookies with 4 Ingredients
First preheat the oven to 350°F and then line the baking tray with parchment paper. If there is excess oil on the top of the natural peanut butter, pour it out first. Then stir the peanut butter well before measuring. This ensures you get the right consistency and prevents your cookies from being too greasy.

In a medium bowl, mix together peanut butter, brown sugar, eggs and baking soda. It helps to combine all ingredients fully with a manual mixer or stand mixer. The dough will be soft and slightly brittle.

Use a cookie spoon to divide the dough into sections and press each section into the ball in your hand to shape it to the size of a golf ball. Manual pressing is better than rolling because the dough will crash.
Place the shaped balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You can keep them as they are or use them gently with a fork for a classic cross finish pattern. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until just set to edges. Make sure not to over-grill, as the peanut butter cookies will continue to cook slightly on the hot pan.

Let them cool on a baking sheet for 5-7 minutes and transfer to wire rack. Please be patient and let them cool completely as it helps cookies set up correctly and prevents them from collapsing.

Why these work well
The 4 Ingredients Peanut Butter Cookies are simple in science. The natural oil in peanut butter provides the fat that is usually found in butter, while protein helps tie everything together. Eggs add moisture and act as a binder, brown sugar provides sweetness and chewiness, while a single teaspoon of baking soda provides enough lift. They are simple and perfect!

Perfect for any occasion
These cookies save me countless times when I need a quick dessert or Pete’s dessert that needs immediate attention. They are perfect for Potlucks, bake sale, or just a Tuesday night where you want to make your own without fuss.
The best part? Even non-candy people like me can master these 4 ingredients peanut butter cookies on their first try. No cream butter, no cooled dough, no complicated steps. Just simple ingredients come together to create something delicious.

Storage and Change
Store finished cookies in an airtight container for up to a week (although they rarely last for a long time in our home). If you feel fancy or want extra texture, you can also add some chocolate chips or chopped nuts. But honestly, they are as perfect as they are.
These 4 ingredients peanut butter cookies prove that sometimes the easiest recipes are the most satisfying. Why complicate things when you create this delicious thing with just four pantry? Pete will certainly approve that in a house where peanut butter ruled the Supreme, it is the ultimate seal of approval.
