Art inspired by nature and conservation
Inside the new Wailulu Bar & Grill, guests will find vibrant fish sculptures that mimic the trevally “swimming” above the dining space. These stunning sculptures are made from recycled fishing nets, a creative nod to ocean conservation.

The tower's lobby features a stunning art installation made of preserved moss, further blending natural beauty with contemporary design. Additionally, the tower will showcase custom Polynesian tapa cloth made from natural fibers to celebrate traditional Polynesian wayfinding and craftsmanship.
Eco-friendly details in guest rooms

Even the smallest details in the island tower highlight sustainability. Luxurious carpets in guest rooms are made from recycled plastic, transformed into silk yarn through revolutionary technology. Inspired by ocean waves and coral patterns, these rugs allow guests to immerse themselves in the tranquil beauty of Polynesian beaches.

During construction, a historic tree dating back to the opening of Walt Disney World was carefully preserved and relocated within the resort. The Florida strangling fig (Ficus aurea) and the sabal palm growing within it are an iconic feature of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Guests can now enjoy this piece of history that has been part of cherished memories for decades.
Sustainability is at the heart of design
The Island Tower was built with sustainability in mind and is consistent with Disney’s 2030 environmental goals. Much of the structure was prefabricated on site, significantly reducing construction waste. Energy-saving features such as optimized heating and cooling systems, LED lighting, and Walt Disney World Resort's first all-electric kitchen make the tower a model of environmental innovation. As a result, the tower received recognition from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging Program.
