Construction of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings' Stirrup Island Terminal is progressing smoothly: Travel Weekly

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings CEO Harry Sommer said he was “very comfortable” the company could launch the program New Pier at Stirrup Island By the end of 2025, this will be key to better utilizing the company's original private islands.

He said the number of tourists to Stirrup Island is expected to nearly double by 2026.

Due to increased deployment, the company expects to serve approximately 700,000 guests in The Bahamas in 2026.

That's slightly more ambitious growth than the roughly 600,000 guests Sommer initially expected in April. This year, 400,000 tourists will visit the island.

Sommer told investors on Thursday's third-quarter earnings call that the company believes the terminal will allow it to utilize the island more efficiently, “more specifically in the winter when the waves in the area are a little bit bigger. “

Upgrades to the island, known as the two-boat dock, will lead to higher guest satisfaction, higher revenue, higher repeat rates and become a “virtuous cycle,” Sommer said. The island is currently only accessible by boat.

Sommer hinted that there may be other enhancements coming to the island, but did not reveal what they would be or when they would be added.
