A new look for Space Ranger

If Buzz looks a little more “intergalactic” than usual, it's not just your imagination. After being taken down earlier this season, the statue appears to have suffered fresh paint. His signature white, green and purple suit is once again vibrant and looks like he just stepped off the assembly line at Al's Toy Barn.

During his absence, Disney Imagineers placed potted plants On an empty pedestal. While the greenery is beautiful, it cannot replace the best of Star Command. Now he's back, adding a small but important update to his blue pedestal: a clear “No climbing” logo to ensure that Space Rangers remain in top shape for years to come.

The toy box is complete again

Buzz isn't the only toy to spend time in the “repair shop” recently. The renovation reflects his neighbor’s journey, mr potato headwho stood opposite the entrance.

  • Mr. Potato Head: It was removed in July for similar grooming. While he was away, he also changed a potted plant, and when he came back he looked completely new.
  • Height difference: To maintain a cinematic look, Mr. Potato Head stands on a container of Play-Doh, which gives him enough height to look Space Ranger in the eye.

Why is it missing?

While Disney has yet to release an official quest log, these types of removals are standard Regular renovation. Continuous exposure to Florida sunlight and humidity will darken the surface of these outdoor figures. By taking them “off earth” for a few weeks, the maintenance team can ensure the colors stay bright and the structures remain safe for the thousands of photos guests take every day.
