
A Christmas Story Short is coming to Disney+ this fall
Disney Branded Television has announced a new animated short, A Christmas Story, for Disney+, directed by David Lowery and produced by five-time Academy Award winner Alfonso Cuarón.

Premiering this fall, the film tells the story of Moon, a curious little owl who becomes trapped on the Christmas tree on her way to Rockefeller Center Plaza. Moon befriends a lost girl named Luna and embarks on a heartwarming adventure through the bustling city. Together, they discover the magic of the holidays and form an unexpected connection on their way home. Inspired by the true story of Rocky, a little owl who was rescued from the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree in 2020, A Christmas Story is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

The film is produced by Disney Branded Television and Cuarón’s Esperanto Filmoj, in association with Titmouse and Maere Studios, with animation services provided by 88 Pictures, and its acclaimed creative team includes Lowery (director, screenplay and producer), Cuarón (producer and story), Gabriela Rodríguez (producer), Jack Thorne (story and screenplay), Nicholas Ashe Bateman (creative designer) and Daniel Hart (composer).
