I write regularly for the Times Union about hiking in the Hudson Valley, Catskills and beyond.
Since 2023, I have contributed dozens of articles to Times Union Excellent Articles Hudson Valley Outdoor Activities part. I write with the same goals I state on my website: to help people discover great trails, hike with more confidence, and feel more connected to the natural world.
My articles cover everything from seasonal hiking guides to kid-friendly hikes, from steep climbs and waterfall loops to gear tips and hiking with dogs. Some pieces highlight favorites like Giant Ledge and Slide Mountain. Others will take you during prime time to lesser-known gems like Little Stony Point, Bramley Mountain or Huckleberry Point. I also write about technique, etiquette, and safety, especially for those who are new to hiking or want to improve their backcountry knowledge.
