Mandala Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement for Radisson Hotels' The Merchant hotel ahead of its opening in May.
The group said the 58-room corporate boutique hotel in Brisbane was originally announced as the Sixty Five Hotel Brisbane and was later renamed the Merchant Hotel to “reflect its deep heritage links with the Roman street market district”.
“The Merchant Hotel, a Radisson Blu Individual Member, represents the quality of an asset that is consistent with Mandala’s long-term business strategy,” said Gemma McCourt, Chief Performance Officer, Mandala Hotels & Resorts.
“Its heritage, design integrity and CBD positioning create a compelling platform for continued performance. Partnering with Radisson Hotel Group through the Radisson Individuals brand allows us to leverage global distribution and loyalty advantages while retaining Brisbane’s unique identity, a dual advantage that will underpin the hotel’s commercial trajectory from pre-opening to stable.”
The move also marks the opening of Queensland's first Radisson Hotel. The Merchant Hotel provides design-forward, reliable accommodation for corporate, government and leisure travelers, the group said.
“As Brisbane cements its position as a world-class business destination, hotels offer more than just a place to stay, they provide a space to work as hard as the people who live in them.”
The hotel's design is said to include exposed materials, warm wood tones and raw industrial finishes, combined with refined details, carefully curated artwork and precise craftsmanship to create spaces that are both rooted in the local area and distinctly contemporary.
As part of Radisson Hotel Group's independent portfolio of hotels, The Merchant Hotel will be integrated into the Radisson Rewards program and benefit from its global distribution and commercial reach.
