Bob Iger walks the futuristic campus of Disneyland Abu Dhabi as project progresses
The future of Disney magic in the Middle East has just taken a very real step forward. Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger has shared a first look at Disneyland Abu Dhabi after visiting the United Arab Emirates. In a brief but exciting Instagram post, Iger shared a photo of himself walking along the coast of Abu Dhabi, giving fans their first look at where Disney's next theme park will eventually rise out of the sand.

The title keeps things simple but hopeful, with Egger noting that there's still a lot of work to do and a lot to be excited about ahead. While development of Disneyland Abu Dhabi is still in the very early and preliminary stages, Disney has confirmed that the park is aiming to open sometime in the early 2030s. That puts the project firmly in the long-term gaming category, but seeing Iger live feels more tangible than a press release.

Details about the park remain limited at this time, although Disney has previously said the destination will blend Disney stories with local culture and architecture, like other international resorts around the world. For now, the quiet site visit serves as a reminder that although construction cranes are still years away, plans are moving ahead aggressively. One thing is clear, Disney's global footprint is about to get even bigger, and Magic is already planning its future coastlines.
