Since May of this year, TouringPlans subscribers (Liners) have submitted actual wait times at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort 45,197 times! This data helps us predict more accurate wait time estimates or expected wait times for all 6 parks (Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure).
Here are just some recent statistics that show that our expected wait times are more accurate than Disney's published wait times due to our data collection and other work our statistics team has been doing.
Our expected wait times are more accurate than those published by Disney:
- Spend 71% of the time at Magic Kingdom in December alone
- TRON 94% of the time is within the first 30 minutes of regular admission
- 76% of TRON’s time in the 120 minutes before park opening
- Peter Pan occupied 71% of the park's first 120 minutes
- Since May, Frozen has been played 76% of the time on EPCOT
- Slinky Dog Dash at Hollywood Studios 78% of Showtimes Since May
- Adventurer Outpost (Mickey and Minnie) in Animal Kingdom 79% of the time
- Animal Kingdom Na'vi River Tour 82% of the time
- Watch Big Thunder Mountain and Indiana Jones Adventure 86% of the time at Disneyland
The chart below shows the expected wait forecasts you can find for each attraction in the Lines app at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. You'll also find information released by Disney about wait times for this attraction and the next available Lightning Alley return time for the day.

“Actual wait times” are also submitted via our Lines app. The image below shows a step-by-step tutorial for the wait time submission process.

Once in the Lines app, select the park you want to visit and then select the time you want to schedule your ride. Where applicable, there are separate timers for Alternate, Lightning and Single Passenger lines. The two most important things to remember when trying to capture accurate wait times are:
- Start the timer when you first stop queuing. For example, if you're queuing up for a Seven Dwarfs minecart ride, and you're already in the queue but still walking, don't start the timer! Once you reach the end of the queue and stop walking, start the clock! This is when your wait really begins.
- Only stop the timer when you are ready to board the ride. These include previews from Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror and Guardians of the Galaxy. While you watch the preview, your timer keeps running! Stop the timer when you're about to board the train – pictured below, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

When you're ready to board your flight, select the blue “Submit to Wait” button on the app. You will receive a final prompt asking if you are sure you want to submit and wait. If you're ready, select “Yes, Submit”! You will be able to view your submitted wait times in the Profile section of the Lines app. You can also view badges earned by waiting time submissions. Some of our favorite badges include “Don’t Lose Your Mind – 5 Waits for the Haunted House!” and “I Love Potholes – 5 Waits for the Kilimanjaro Adventure!” What badges have you earned?
Thank you to the many passengers who continue to wait in line! We really appreciate your help improving the Lines app!
