Team members who did not continue climbing Chimborazo parted ways with the rest of the team after a “farewell” dinner on Monday night.
Early this morning, climbers on Mount Chimborazo reached 5800 meters (just over 19,000 feet) before turning back due to poor weather conditions on the mountain. The weather was not expected to improve over the next few days so the decision was made to return to Quito.
