Canada Hotel de Glace Guide

A hotel made entirely of ice, Canada's Hotel de Glace is built with a new theme every year and features art installations from sculptors from around the world. This year's theme is historical timeline and shows the earth from different eras.
Here's how accommodation works. Guests check into the Hotel Valcartier at 4 p.m. and enter their normal hotel rooms. They can also enter the Hotel de Glace lobby at this time. You can store your luggage and use the private bathroom in your room at Hotel Valcartier. The Ice Hotel room is ready for check-in at 9pm! Leave your belongings in your Valcatia hotel room to avoid freezing.
Extra-thick sleeping bags are provided for guests in Hotel de Glace's rooms. It is recommended to wear more clothes than your usual pajamas. A full set of winter gear/clothing must be included in the sleeping bag to ensure you have a warm and comfortable sleep in your snow hotel suite.
We're ready for Hotel de Glace:

These layers allowed for a comfortable night's sleep, keeping us warm and cozy with a slight chill on our noses in the morning. It's a small price to pay for such an epic experience.
Each suite has its own theme, and we stayed in a yoga-themed Superior Deluxe Suite. This suite (penthouse) features a fireplace, hot tub, and sauna! For those looking for a more affordable experience, there are cheaper rooms and fewer amenities available. Check-out time is 9 a.m., but guests can still enter the hotel lobby and rooms at the Valcatia Hotel until 11 a.m.
There is a bar on site with DJ performances every Saturday night. Our favorite thing about the Hotel de Glace in Canada was the giant ice slide! The drinks at the bar are also served in ice glasses! Check Quebec Carnival. Experience Quebec City's largest annual event celebrating winter and the snow capital of the world. During Carnival, there are tons of events taking place across the city, including live music, children's activities, nightly parades, and of course, you'll get to see Carnival's infamous ambassador, the Bonhomme.
Experience snow tubing at a winter playground. The Valcartier countryside has plenty to do in winter, including the incredible winter playground It has 25 trails and a beautiful outdoor ice rink. This is a fun place to vacation with family or friends.

Au 1884 Toboggan ride. If you want an affordable activity (tickets are only $4 each), you can go on a crazy ride on these toboggan hills, reaching speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour! What a rush!

Just 30 minutes from Quebec City and 15 minutes from the Hotel de Glace, this stunning forest night walk features an immersive 1.2 kilometer trail celebrating the Huron-Wendat Nation. It is very educational and may be emotional for some as you feel a strong connection to nature and have the opportunity to meditate as you become fully immersed in the experience.

bloom sushi. A unique vegetarian sushi restaurant in the heart of Quebec City. Not only was our sushi delicious, but the presentation was amazing and the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice and relaxed. We also enjoyed some delicious cocktails decorated with edible flowers!

What if I find it’s too cold to sleep at night?
Overnight guests are given sleeping bags and encouraged to sleep in layers as your body warms up during the night. The Hotel Valcartier across the street also offers guests a room where they can store their luggage, shower and, if they can't make it through the night, sleep in.
