Aerobatic pilot
Go back to the daily aerial performance that once happened above Silverwood In the late 1980s and early 1990s, aerobatic pilots were theme park-themed monorail cycling roller coasters.
The ride opened in 2021 and is built by Rocky Mountain Construction, a roller coaster manufacturer whose factory just went down the roads in Silverwood and has a long connection to the park. However, the aerobatic pilot is the first brand new RMC roller coaster to be used in the theme park, rather than renovating existing rides.
The aerobatic pilot's aerobatic pilot show theme with the RMC Raptor track design is very effective: the riding area is quite compact, the monorail track is reversed, looped and twisted a few times, as you would expect from the airplane flight route during the air show. The train has only one seat per row, which can help riders feel like they are controlling the aerobatics (especially in the front row!), and the high cross-cycle position greatly increases the opponent's flying feel.
RMC is known for its crazy, intense roller coaster design, and the aerobatic pilot is no exception. It went very, very smoothly, but also very powerful. It does have a lot of positive and negative G-gospels, call time pop and some crazy moments when it navigates along the track, and it does get riders down the track. It was a wild but brilliant experience.

While the riding theme isn't very extensive, the vibrant white and red tracks look striking. There is a simple barn with a few yellow hoops that the train flies by, providing some cool first-team moments. The station is a pure grey metal shed designed behind the aircraft hangar. Although some disappointment was the grey shingles covering the ground below the track.
Although aerobatic pilot is a great journey, low-level subjects can be forgiven. It's short and makes riders crave more, but it does contribute to the relatively low capacity offered by the 10-seat train. Thankfully, Silverwood’s Ride Ops are very effective and are able to quickly dispatch trains to keep the Queueline moving.
The aerobatic pilot is arguably the best roller coaster in Silverwood, and it's an easy argument to make. The uniqueness of a single rail coaster design, the RMC's excellent Raptor track and layout, a strong but fun riding experience, and the nod of the riding theme to the history of the park can all create outstanding rides not only in Silverwood but throughout the Pacific Northwest.
