recent, Edelweiss Celebrate their inaugural plane from Zurich to Seattle using the Airbus A340 (4 engines 4 long distances). Not only do I want to see new international operators starting service at my home airport, but they also use Avgeek's favorite: A340. Francis Zera (Our Editor-in-Chief and Photography Director) and I tagged the event and I would say we had a great time.

Covering the inauguration ceremony has become very routine: on the decorations on the door (check), you can go up the tarmac, watch the plane arrive (check), you can enjoy the water cannon salute inspection, VIPs speak at the door (check), ribbon-cutting inspection, checking inspection, and have some cute snacks to enjoy (check). Not that the inauguration isn't exciting, but with this I have to experience something new that I didn't expect.

Shortly after the Seattle inauguration, I edited and published Francis SAS Inauguration Story. In his work, he describes how he was a little wet from the water cannon tribute due to the wind exchange. I was entertained and even laughed, but got it off. When we were told where to represent Edelweiss’ Airbus A340 arrived, I walked as far as I could toward the runway…it was also very close to a fire truck. I had brief thoughts about Francis’ experience in water, but I think the worst may be a bit hazy. No.

Edelweiss' red and white A340 was pretty when she landed at sea and started the taxi to the gate. My distraction to the plane distracted me as she walked around the last corner so that I didn’t notice the wind blowing in my direction on the fire truck. I took some photos with my phone and then, BAM!

Like I was sprayed by A…well,…a lot of water hose, I was immediately soaked. When the water is off, it's like I just jumped into the pool. I'm soaked, but I love it. I felt dizzy inside, not only saw the Airbus A340 from the tarmac, but also was sprayed by a fire truck. Not to mention, because it's hot, it feels good too. The best inauguration ceremony ever.

I was a little worried about my phone because it was soaked too, I couldn’t take a selfie and luckily, it was OK and Francis was there to capture my shock. We were able to stroll on the plane to take pictures of those beautiful four engines. Then we go back to the terminal for the speech and ribbon cut.
