The grand world sailing and big sailing of the Netherlands and the United States: Pole-to-pole guests held a party in Barcelona on Thursday. Zuiderdam and Volendam Both visited the Spanish port together for the night and held a special celebration involving two ships to commemorate the occasion.
This is the first time that the Netherlands and the United States offer two large voyages over 120 days at the same time. To celebrate, the boats offer Spanish-themed joint afternoon tea, local-style dinners, duel deck parties and dramatic drone performances.
Zuiderdam Its 124-day Great World voyage is currently operating, which left Fort Lauderdale on January 4. Volendam It is currently on its 133-day large voyage: pole-to-pole, which set sail from Fort Lauderdale on January 25. During his stay in Barcelona, Dutch US President Beth Bodensteiner visited two ships and spent a long time with the World Cruise guests, previewing the details of the 2027 Great World Sail.

“In Barcelona, our two big sailing ship meetings were a truly special moment, symbolizing the spirit of adventure and connection that defined our cruising,” Bodenstein said. “I love visiting the two boats, meeting guests and team members and revealing the itinerary for our 2027 Big World Sail. Our crew once again paid for creating homes for our valuable big guests.”
In addition to visiting from Bodensteiner, a special afternoon tea is provided Zuiderdam, This is the guests on both ships so that they can meet and mix. Panoramic views of both ships were capped during driverless performances. It highlights some of the unique destinations guests have experienced on the cruise so far, including penguins in Antarctica, Brazil’s carnival dancers, Moai statues on Easter Island, Sydney Opera House and Egypt’s pyramids.
“I have been a regular on Grand Sail for years, and the 2025 GWV hasn’t disappointed.
