Hot Spring Spa It is a Nordic-style spa in Whitby Durham area. The Durham area is the perfect place to have a spa resort as there is plenty to see in the area. We spent a full day relaxing and recharged at There Spa, a full service spa with hot and cold spas, a variety of saunas and steam rooms, various seating areas, a beach area, state-of-the-art restaurants and two incredible on-site restaurants. After staying, we explored the Durham area, inspected some local farms and farms, restaurants, and stayed in an incredible wildlife sanctuary.
Thermea Spa: Everything you need to know

experience
Thermea Spa has so many health products that you can easily spend the whole day there. Some experiences include:
- The spa village includes a hot tub, sauna, steam room, relaxation area and artificial beach.
- Cara (extra fee); easy Epsom salt float
- Rhassaoul (extra fee); Revived clay body treatment
- Body therapy and massage (by appointment only)
- Aufguss rituals (including); sauna experience is enhanced by water and essential oils, and has choreography and music that wastes towels. The experience lasts for 15 minutes, and it is recommended that you cool in immediately. Listening to the gong is a warning that another Onuvus will start soon. Get a seat in Aufguss Sauna as early as possible because these rituals are always full!
We brought a book because it was a beautiful sunny day so we brought the beach to refrigeration, but in the colder season there are hammocks with warm sleeping bags so you can enjoy the fresh air but the most comfortable in the summer months!
At the end of the day, shower and prepare in its state-of-the-art changer, complete with shower, shampoo, conditioner and lotion, and a free hairdryer.
When to visit
We love that Thermea Spa is just one hour outside of Toronto, which makes it easy to escape the city and enjoy a relaxing day. Open year-round, Whitby’s warm spa is always a good idea! Summer is an amazing time to visit so you can enjoy the heat and nature. We recommend you arrive earlier in the day to experience the spa during quiet times, and workdays are always less busy than weekends. However, the spa is big and it won't feel busy even when it reaches full load.

We recommend purchasing a pass in advance to ensure you get the time and date you want. You can book an entry pass every 15 minutes. Once entered, you can do whatever you want. Thanks to the on-site dining and so many areas to relax, we loved to arrive early and spend the whole day there.

What to pack in hot springs
Thermea Spa has everything in mind, so you don't need to bring too much. Your admission fee includes robes and towels, and you can load the spa bracelet with money, so you don’t need to carry your wallet with you. But, you need to bring something to your spa!

- sunglasses
- sandals

Where to stay near the spa therapy center

The Durham area of Ontario is a lively place with lots of things to see and do, where you need to book at least one night so you don't miss anything. We like to stay Soper Creek Widnerness Villas In their solar power out of the grid wilderness.
Each of their domes/villas comes with comfortable beds, soft linens, bedside tables and more. Outside our dome is a peaceful pond. Solar energy allows each villa to provide guests with the power of light bulbs, charging equipment and fans.
Outside each villa is a private stove and Adirondack chairs. While you're there, make sure you book a free wildlife tour to see all the great work they have to help animals! Your accommodation in the wilderness Villa supports the only wildlife and plant rehabilitation hospital and outdoor education center in the Durham area.

Things to do before and after your thermal therapy visit

Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue Tour. Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue is an incredible place where Ontario wildlife is restored so they can return to the wild. Learn first-hand about the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center on an hourly tour led by a wildlife educator. You can observe some permanent residents (animals who live there permanently due to the inability to safely return to the wild) and it feels good to know the ticket cost directly towards helping the injured wildlife thrive again!

Farm Market in Pinger. Pingle's is known for its own fields. They have blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, corn, apples and peas that can be picked at various times of summer. They also offer seasonal picking up their own flowers (lavender, wildflowers and sunflowers), seasonal activities such as yoga in lavender fields, and have the most amazing markets for selling a large number of local farm fresh items.

Parkwood National Historic Site. You might realize the incredible fountain feature of Parkwood Estate in the famous comedy movie, starring Adam Sandler. The home was once owned by RS McLaughlin, the founder of General Motors in Canada. Today, this is a museum website where you can explore the mansion indoors, explore the expansive gardens and experience a lovely afternoon tea (premium ticket required). Lunch and dinner are also available on site.
