Crane Mountain near Serenman New York has it all: fun trails, a battle of rocks, a very high wilderness ladder, and a wonderful view on the wonderful top ridge.
This trail is famous for its scenic beauty, including two cliff ladders, killer lighting views and a tranquil spring mountain ridge pond. The road is popular for bird watching, fishing and of course hiking, which means it has a good journey and you will most likely encounter outdoor enthusiasts along the way.
Although this trail is often considered challenging due to its steep rocky areas and the physical needs of sailing on cliffs, the reward is an unrivalled view of multiple locations along the top ridge.
For those planning to address this adventure hike, a set of hiking poles will provide more support for the demanding parts of the trail.
From May to October, it's best to enjoy this trail.
Note 1: Dog owners are welcome to bring traction pets, although be careful, as the ladder section can be tricky for our four-legged friends.
Note 2: The trail on the southeast side of the mountain leads to a beloved set of rock climbing cliffs.
