Overwater villas. Pool houses. Water parks. Private butlers. A pair of new resorts are coming to Jamaica this fall, and the island's first Princess hotel has a date set for its opening.
The dual-resort complex is set to open soon in the emerging tourist destination of Green Island, located on the island’s northwest coast on the way to Negril.
So the latest Hotels in JamaicaOne is Princess Senses The Mangrove, an all-inclusive, adults-only resort featuring overwater villas (with private pools), ocean-view suites and swim-up rooms. Facilities include 14 restaurants, 15 bars and lounges and a destination spa. There are 401 rooms (all suites) and 14 different overwater villas, a relatively new trend in Jamaica that began with Sandals’ first resort. Overwater Suites 2016.
Another is the Jamaica Princess, a family-friendly hotel. Here you'll have a water park, a kids' club, babysitting services, a “themed entertainment area” with virtual reality, and activities such as water sports and tennis to ensure that everyone in your group can find something they like. Dining concepts here range from Mexican to Asian to local Jamaican cuisine, with a total of 9 restaurants and another 8 bars. The Princess is larger, with a total of 590 suites, including a “Platinum” suite with extra amenities and a private butler.
So when do they open?
The resort is currently scheduled to open on November 1, according to the Princess website.
What is the price?
According to Princess.com, rates at the family-friendly Princess Grand Jamaica are currently starting as low as $469 per night.
While these are the first Princess resorts in Jamaica, Princess is no stranger to the Caribbean. The Spanish company has seven resorts in the Caribbean, including four in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and three in the Mexican Caribbean.
